All Right Now :Info
July 18th, 2001. The entire song, lyrics and music, was written in a day after I woke from a dream about my ex.... you know... one of those "not THIS again" moments. It is humbly dedicated to Darin. Solidarity, comrade.
The music progresses through several ideas that could have easily ended up as separate songs. Although it sounds like it, this does not contain electric guitar; it's just me having fun with effects and my acoustic. This song makes good use of coffee. At the beginning I'm slurping it, and by the end, the coffee cup is added to the percussion section. Cheers.
All Right Now : Lyrics
Watching and waiting for my ship to come;
empty horizons mirror my bleached cranium.
Attached to you I was working without a net,
when I came down I fell like ashes from a cigarette.
But I'm all right now because the world has brought me back.
Now I remember all the good times that we had,
but when I think of you I can't but feel sad.
Why didn't you tell me that your heart had gone away?
I can't believe in love that throws me away.
But I'm all right now, because the world has brought me back.
And you know what? We'll all be there...
the freaks and sluts and jocks and brains.
Yeah, it'll be great... it'll be grand... the brotherhood of man.
My thoughts are shifting, this weight is lifting,
the clouds all disappear.
This day is beautiful, it's no miracle that I will persevere.
