Glinko the Cat

Glinko the Cat : Info
March 31st, 2000, Japan. While in a Japanese fishing village, I witnessed a haunting image of a wild tom cat staring back at me. He was gaunt and lean, and missing chunks of fur from fights or malnutrition, but I will never forget his gaze: he looked at me from his refuse-filled surroundings without a trace of fear. Japan has a profusion of such cats, one of which I photographed, but the one I caught on film was well fed. Their tails are stubby or sometimes absent, and (I swear I'm not making this up) they actually have slanty eyes. The name "Glinko" came to me in a dream.
This is another one of the songs that gets a bit whacky with its meter. I'm glad I didn't have to notate this!
Glinko the Cat : Lyrics
This sailor comes with ragged clothes,
salty words and jeweled eyes.
I'm tattered and twisted,
but I choose to survive 'cuz
I am not afraid.
With a sacrament of flesh and blood
I infect myself in all of you.
I'm fighting back with claws and teeth
in my violent world obscured from view 'cuz
I am not afraid.
